Robert W. Adams

Mr. Adams has over 34 years of litigation experience in the patent and trademark fields. In addition to litigation, his practice involves complex licensing negotiations and trademark prosecution.

Mr. Adams has been lead counsel in many dozens of patent lawsuits and his extensive litigation experience is demonstrated, for example, by two recent dismissals of complaints against our client, Sharp Corporation, in the Eastern District of Texas (involving the plaintiffs' International Control Systems and Datatern), as well as decisions in Surefoot LC v. Sure Foot Corp., 531 F.3d 1236 (10th Cir. 2008); Colida v. Sharp Electronics Corp., App. No. 05-1061 (Fed. Cir. March 9, 2005); and Sony Electronics et al. v. Soundview, App. LEXIS 18406 (Fed. Cir. August 11, 2004). He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court, the Federal Circuit and numerous other courts across the country.

Mr. Adams is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the International Trademark Association. He has published several articles concerning the licensing of U.S. technology in foreign countries. Mr. Adams has lectured on the interface between patent and antitrust law.
