MICHAEL E. CRAWFORD received a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia, and a Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University, where he studied, among others, under judges Robert Bork and A. Raymond Randolph of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and well-known patent law professor Irving Kayton. Mr. Crawford's practice focuses on patent, trademark, and unfair competition litigation.
In 2007, N&V attorneys Bob Rowan, Joe Presta, and Michael Crawford comprised the lead counsel team that obtained a $39 million jury verdict in federal district court (S.D.Miss.) for attempted monopolization under the Sherman Antitrust Act in a Walker-Process and "sham litigation" case predicated on fraudulently obtained patents relating to the casino gaming industry.
In 2008, Mr. Crawford teamed with fellow N&V litigator Bob Adams to win a groundbreaking decision in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit which extended to trademark cases the Supreme Court's landmark MedImmune ruling regarding declaratory judgment jurisdiction.
Mr. Crawford is a member of the bars of the Supreme Court of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
